Evie’s Newborn Session!

I don’t think this lovely little girl will ever have any clue how wanted she was.  Her parents had been praying for this sweet pea for quite some time, and she was every bit of a blessing that they knew she would be.  Her momma is my cousin, and we could not have been happier when we found out we would be getting another little girl in the family.  Evie was born exactly 3 months before Sally–I know they will be great pals!

We were able to do her newborn photos a few weeks after she was born.  She didn’t want to sleep too much, but no complaints here, she was still such a beauty with her eyes open!  And come on, look at those rolls!  Any pics would be cute!

Newborn Ethan!

I was so happy to be there the day my nephew, Ethan, was born.  And it was great to be able to get some newborn photos of him, too.  He is such a sweet little guy, and I just can’t get over his chubby little cheeks!  It’s no wonder that his older brothers and sisters are just crazy about him.  Ethannewborn-0001 Ethannewborn-0004 Ethannewborn-0009

The Resseguies!

Loved this session I had back in December with the Resseguies.  They’re just one of my favorite families!  Maya is Henry’s age (they were born within a day and a half of each other), and it’s so fun to see other kiddos the same age. Both girls were so cute and sweet, and I just love seeing two of my great friends as parents.  Plus, with the weird warm early winter we had, we were able to do most of the photos outside!  It was all around a great time. I mean, look how cute they are!

Stuart is 9 months!

Well, it’s definitely time to get this up!  We just finished up Stuart’s 1st year session, but I had to share this.  Can’t get enough of Stu, and as always, his super cute family!

Seriously, how cute is he?!I just love this family.  They always have so much fun!So grateful Callan is always up for some photos… he just makes me smile. I love these next few of Stuart and his momma.

Molly is here!

I’m very excited to be doing more labor and delivery sessions these days!  I’ve always been amazed by the birthing process, and over the years have been so fortunate to be able to be there for many of my nieces and nephews being born.  And for the last couple years, I have been starting to do labor and delivery sessions, and I just love it!  It’s so exciting being there and watching everything unfold.  It’s one of the most incredible things you can witness in life, and I was so honored to be there for sweet little Molly’s birth.

My dear friend, Sarah, has begun to work with me for labor and delivery to ensure that at least one of us can make it.  We had a great time waiting for Molly, and even though we didn’t end up getting to be in the room for the actual delivery (they ended up quickly going to c-section), it was still amazing to be there for the first moments of her life.  Sarah was also able to go back the next day and get some more photos once they had a chance to rest and recover.  Isn’t it crazy how Molly’s face had changed even in that 24 hour period?! There’s nothing like those first days of a baby… you truly never get them back.  I’m so grateful we were able to be there for Cassie and Dan, and that they were willing to share these moments with us!

The Johns!

Oh, my love for this family is so great.  Besides the fact that they are part of my family (I have a wonderfully giant family filled with lots of cousins!), I was so blessed to have Chase and Ashton come to my house for daycare every week for the first 2 1/2 years of their life.  I have such a special place in my heart for these boys, and I even brought Henry to the session because I just love how sweet they are with him.  Chase always holds his hands, and my heart just melts.

We had quite the trip planning their session–the weather was less than our friend–but after a handful of reschedules, we had a beautiful day!  And there’s nothing like letting little boys play around in the woods; they knew just what to do!

Now aren’t they just the sweetest family?

These next few just melt me. I can’t even explain how much this boy loves his daddy.  One of my favorites from the day.

The Holbrooks!

Guess who still has fall posts to share! They’re just so cute, I can’t not.   The Holbrooks are no exception.  I had a great time with them, and Maddox and Harper–I mean, how cute are they?!  So glad I got to spend some time them!

2013 Calendar!

(Had to have a shot from my newborn session this weekend… Can you even handle how sweet baby Evie is?!)

So hooray for organizing!  I’ve been trying so hard to get things sorted out.  I think the combination of January’s newness and my full-on nesting urges have really combined well this year.  I’ll just apologize to my family in advance for all of the things that will be sent to Goodwill without their knowing…

Anyway, in the photography front, I decided to give you guys a little heads up of what to anticipate.  I think having a pregnant photographer can always send everyone in a bit of question, but who wants to be the one to ask specifics.  Plus, I’m adding a few mini-sessions and wanted to let people know in advance. So, here’s what the year is looking like:

January-February 16th

Only a couple spots left for portrait sessions through the beginning of February!

February 17th-April 7th

Maternity leave!  I’ll be off having our sweet baby girl and enjoying some family time.

Birth & Newborn Sessions

I’m very excited that over the next couple months you will be seeing a greater focus on birth and newborn sessions.  If you’re considering this or would like more information, be sure and let me know as soon as possible.  It’s a little more time sensitive and I can only take so many in a specific time frame, so it’s better if we get your due date reserved sooner than later!  Email me at katyophoto@gmail.com to chat details!

Baby O maternity + family session!

It’s crazy to think that just in November, we still didn’t know whether we’d be getting another niece or another nephew in the O’Dell family!  My nephew has been born (hooray for Ethan!) but I had to post the family and maternity session I did in anticipation of his arrival.  We had such a great time, and Henry even got to tag along and play with his cousins.

Look at my sweet nieces and nephews! (Emma wasn’t quite ready to play…)  Obviously some with Henry in there…There she is!Their proud mama and papa.
One of my favorites. So pretty, Keri!  And we obviously had to do some of the beautiful mama on her own.  Isn’t she lovely?

Such a perfect belly!

Stay tuned… Part 2, Ethan’s birth and newborn session, will be coming up soon!

Best of 2012!

Happy New Year!  I thought I’d start off with a “best of” post.  I’m very exciting about making some resolutions (I totally dig that kind of thing), but I do think it’s so great to take time to reflect on the year you’ve had.  I’ll definitely take time to do that personally, and of course I had to do it for my business, too.  We’ve had quite the year being here and there, and even among the moving and the breaks that had to be taken, I was still so blessed to have so many amazing clients who worked with my crazy schedule and allowed me to be there for some of the most beautiful moments. Being able to witness such great love in so many beautiful families, promises made by newlyweds, and the indescribable joy of new parents is beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of–I truly love this job and look forward to another year with all of my wonderful clients!  Cheers to the New Year!
