Paul and Kristen had the most adorable winter wedding at a beautiful little church in the country. I was so happy to be a part of their wonderful day. It was filled with so much joy, and Paul was probably the sweetest groom we’ve had–I love that he’s such a sap. It was a great day of celebrating with lots of loved ones. And it was especially fun because we knew so many of their guests… it’s always nice to get to celebrate with everyone!

I don’t think this lovely little girl will ever have any clue how wanted she was. Her parents had been praying for this sweet pea for quite some time, and she was every bit of a blessing that they knew she would be. Her momma is my cousin, and we could not have been happier when we found out we would be getting another little girl in the family. Evie was born exactly 3 months before Sally–I know they will be great pals!
We were able to do her newborn photos a few weeks after she was born. She didn’t want to sleep too much, but no complaints here, she was still such a beauty with her eyes open! And come on, look at those rolls! Any pics would be cute!
She wasn’t super excited about wearing headbands, but I had to quick snap one of the headband my sister-in-law made her; it’s one of my favorites!
Susie is the best mom. My heart was so full seeing her hold her baby girl. <3

And lucky Evie that she has two big sisters who were more than happy to help with her!
Such a happy family!

Susie saw this idea and wanted to try it with the girls… I can’t believe how well it worked out! They were just too cute!
So, I thought in celebration of getting back to shoots, I would offer up some great deals for each type of session in the month of May. I did this refer-a-wedding deal a couple years back, and was so happy with the outcome! I thought I’d try it out again. I figure nobody would be sad to get a little cash, plus your friend gets to have an awesome photographer. Win-win-win!
So refer away! Just let your pals know to contact me at katyophoto@gmail.com and to mention your name.
Thank you in advance!
I was so happy to be there the day my nephew, Ethan, was born. And it was great to be able to get some newborn photos of him, too. He is such a sweet little guy, and I just can’t get over his chubby little cheeks! It’s no wonder that his older brothers and sisters are just crazy about him.

Sweet, sweet baby Jude. I had the privilege of being there the day he was born! (If you missed his birth session on the blog, you can check it out here.) Soon after everyone was settled in at home, we did his newborn session, too. We had to try a couple times, but we were finally able to get some winners! It’s always worth it once they finally fall asleep!

Loved this session I had back in December with the Resseguies. They’re just one of my favorite families! Maya is Henry’s age (they were born within a day and a half of each other), and it’s so fun to see other kiddos the same age. Both girls were so cute and sweet, and I just love seeing two of my great friends as parents. Plus, with the weird warm early winter we had, we were able to do most of the photos outside! It was all around a great time. I mean, look how cute they are!
Look at those beautiful eyes!
Kenna was just way too cute!
These next two melt my heart. Casey is such a beautiful momma!
Fatherhood suits you well, Jesse.
So, Maya wasn’t super excited by the time we got to family photos, but, she’s still cute so it’s okay!
And then we tried a few inside… She was happier then!

Well, it’s definitely time to get this up! We just finished up Stuart’s 1st year session, but I had to share this. Can’t get enough of Stu, and as always, his super cute family!

Seriously, how cute is he?!

I just love this family. They always have so much fun!

So grateful Callan is always up for some photos… he just makes me smile.

I love these next few of Stuart and his momma.

Gosh, I loved going through these photos again to blog them. I just LOVED this wedding! You may remember Grace & Jeremy’s engagement session from this past spring. We did it at a carnival in honor of their old-world carnival-inspired wedding! It was so unique, but it a really great way. Grace just did an amazing job at the details! Plus, they had the wedding at The Hitching Post in Ravenna, Mi, which is one of the cutest little farms ever! And even though it was a November wedding, we had beautiful weather and were able to do all of the photos outside… it was a dream!

I seriously just thought all of the details were just perfect!

Best photo bomb.

I’m always a fan of a first-look, but this one was really tops. Anything in a willow tree makes the day.

I can’t even handle out gorgeous you are, Grace!

And the day is always more fun when you have some of your best pals around!

I mean, seriously!?!

So glad they wanted to hang out with the animals, too!

And we had a photo booth! It was a lot of fun, and such a great way to get photos of the guests!

It was a perfect fall wedding. The weather was beautiful, everyone looked good, and most importantly, it was a real good time. The Brown wedding was a great day of celebrating true love and all of those who had a role in it. That’s what it’s all about after all, right?
Tracy had some of the most stunning details. She had everything picked for a reason, and found some really amazing ways to personalize the day.

I was in love with this dress.

Loved the boots… and yes, there was a horse.

I’m very excited to be doing more labor and delivery sessions these days! I’ve always been amazed by the birthing process, and over the years have been so fortunate to be able to be there for many of my nieces and nephews being born. And for the last couple years, I have been starting to do labor and delivery sessions, and I just love it! It’s so exciting being there and watching everything unfold. It’s one of the most incredible things you can witness in life, and I was so honored to be there for sweet little Molly’s birth.
My dear friend, Sarah, has begun to work with me for labor and delivery to ensure that at least one of us can make it. We had a great time waiting for Molly, and even though we didn’t end up getting to be in the room for the actual delivery (they ended up quickly going to c-section), it was still amazing to be there for the first moments of her life.

Sarah was also able to go back the next day and get some more photos once they had a chance to rest and recover. Isn’t it crazy how Molly’s face had changed even in that 24 hour period?! There’s nothing like those first days of a baby… you truly never get them back.

I’m so grateful we were able to be there for Cassie and Dan, and that they were willing to share these moments with us!
